I have been quiet way to long!!!

The last time I wrote anything was in March or May....a lot has happened from there ....I can go with the "I have been so busy" slogan ....but really I have.....

I would like to change the direction of my Blog ,mainly because I have come to discover new areas that I love so profoundly, not that I love Fashion any less, but I have come to realise I love a whole lotta of other stuff too..... I do believe it is of humanistic nature to love and embrace various passions in our life time...

I would really love my blog to embrace me and be a true reflection of my thought process ,my day to day occurrences, happenings ,activities that trigger and stimulate my mind and actions ....Henceforth I would blog about everything and anything...i do hope you enjoy the ride with me.....

I have been working on my sunglasses range which would be officially released into main stream market in the near future...i have always loved the way a pair of shades could literally frame your face...Jokingly id say~ like the Head lights of a German Machine so as my Sunglasses to my face"..:-) That was meant to be Funny if you laughed Kudos to you, if you didn't.. :-(...will keep you in the loop as things progress.....

JSQ is going well ,it is a continuous learning process for me ,I learn each day....I would love to write a journal on starting a clothing /Fashion Label and all the Information a Young entrepreneur would require ....I would gather from my own experiences (which in the space of nearly 2 Years ,I have learnt!!! Lost a lot and Gained even More...One thing i would say for now is , don't expect to become an overnight millionaire....You do it for the Love of it and everything else will follow. If you wanna make a quick buck i suggest you play the Lotto J

What have I been up too besides Fashion.....? Delving deep into areas and subject matters to name a few.... Corporate Social Investing, Socio Economic Issues and the Economy as a whole.....When I am not designing or haggling my goods, I play a role at an NGO (I use the words PLAY with reference to acting), I read recently a phrase that goes thus 'We all Actors on the Stage called Life, Best you act to the best of your abilities until the curtain draws") profound right!!!!.

To speak of the curtain drawing would a long walk into spirituality, The Creation story and the Demise of the world we live in eventually...I guess that's a topic for another dayyyy J....

Over the years I have been drawn to various subject Matter, The issue of Poverty, The Role of the West, Social Structures and various ideologies (The Marx`s, Durkheim, Weber),Feminism and Women's Rights, Globalization the list is endless ,all in Pursuit of a Perfect society an Utopian one..........

I strongly believe one of the advantages of being a woman, is we can buy the best pair of Killer Heels, adorn them, and still understand the underlying process and factors of how our shoes have come into existence... Proverbially speaking Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back... defines our quest for knowledge.

Responsibility and accountability by our leaders and of ourselves is imperative...we are a generation full of questions, No rhetorical questions, we require answers.

Ethical buying has never been of great consequence; Governance and Ethics have become minimum requirements, Service delivery, and our reinforced rights as citizens of the world.....

I am not a Tree Hugger, and really trying to get a grasp of the so called Go Green Initiatives.... close to home though is a Free and Fair market for all. Organizations such as Body Shop have put a spin and shifted focus, Sustainability is key to development. Key to effective Development and growth in a Free and Fair environment is our Ethos. To have an ideal capitalist society.....(in hindsight we have to question capitalism , how Fair is this system and Free to who, empowering who , creating a wider divide or bridging the Gap???)

It was really nice to have the world cup here in Africa, never have I seen Africans unite across all borders. It was an event to make every African Proud and eradicate/enlighten preconceived and bigoted views of Africa.....I Picked up new slogans

KE NAKO: Zulu for the Time is here...it is Time......

AYOBA: Cool..ie you look Ayoba....Now dats Ayoba and the Verb will be Ayobaness.......:-)

Women's days celebration was recently celebrated in South Africa, I was honoured to be invited for a workshop which I found ever so empowering, insightful and uplifting, the mere presence of such high achievers and Pioneers of various sectors of our economy. Resilient women who against all odds forged ahead to become success stories of our time and to reinforce the idea of YES WE CAN...

I Am glad the spirit of Blogging has been restored unto me J, To say that I enjoy blogging is an understatement, the arbitrary nature in which I have been blogging lately might suggest the contrary...My excuse!!!! Finding myself and understanding what I want to talk about, share and write.....

Am living my Life like its Golden I suggest you do it.....Mwahhhhhh xoxo

Started with a bad hair day.....
I have been looking in my mirror recently and I am so bored with me...I have had the same hairstyle since last year(actually a couple of months)and it does get a tad bit tiring, i have always wished i could grow out my own natural hair with no chemicals and have braids or actually skin the whole thing and start from scratch....but something tells me just because I pulled this look 10years ago, doesn’t mean i shall now...may be my head has grown bigger or something’s in there have moved slightly and as such dented the shape of everything.....:-(

so as I yearn for something different but dramatic and staying through to my rocker chic storyboard, i do want something natural and cute.. cute..a few pictures of celebs and their hair... on the rocker chic note I guess I’d go with Rhianna and Kelis somewhere in between .....with curls in front and still trimmed and shaped at sides.....Wish me luck people am on the phone to my hair stylist...Hey what’s the worst that can happen id buy a wig!!!!

Edie Sedgwick 60`s Fashion Icon
Style icon Edie Sedgwick inspired the likes of Andy Warhol and Bob Dylan and left behind a fashion legacy that still lives on today, '60s It girl and true individual. I just love the share simplicity of her look in this picture, she captures such innocence, her scarf and chunky bracelet  should be one everywoman’s staples just brings a certain je ne sais quoi to a look....

Mademoiselle Gaga
Well she definitely entertained me last year and she keeps getting better at this THING called weird....I do like the fact she is bold and unique, more than anything she delivers !!!!still stuck on that Poker Face tune.....sharing a few of her outrageous fashion choices......hope your day was good, mine was definitely full of surprises...just full of them xoxo

DENIM
The return of the Denim Jacket!!!!!, by now you  probably know how i feel about Ms Ashley, taken from UK VOGUE March 2010th the Lady none other than Alexa Chung is the model, photographed by Alasdair McLellan, She was referred to as "fashion's favorite girl," which feels well deserved. In the pictures we see her in blue, a lot out of denim, the original blue Denim is just ever so timeless, so i set out looking for a denim jacket, as alway trust your local thrift or vintage store for dated but relevant Denims, you can sew in shoulder pads, sequence and studs again to make it YOURS....i opted for a biker chic stlye...it just sits beautifully on my figure...a tuxedo style jacket should be perfect as well...so understanding your body is the 1st rule of Dressing up...:-)..Have a Fab week...

PRETORIA
Started the weekend off at my aunties and family in Pretoria....its like 45mins(when i drive which can be compared to a turtle taking a stroll) away from Joburg so it is another city, it was really nice and relaxing...so my blouse is by JSQ, my necklace is really cool it’s a feather with black beads around it, Love it!!!my BELT ...hmmm u know I am about all things STUDDED at d  moment -).....its a steal /bargain by Mr Price for R29.90,thats like 2 Quid(full price)love it and got it in brown...it shall soon debut here...my pumps as well I got from Mr Price at R80.00(Less than $20..surely being fashionable without maxing your card out is a reality....Remember  wear your clothes they dont wear u......xoxo

About Me

My Photo
Johannesburg, South Africa
Hey Everyone its 2010.... Always wanted my own blog...so i got one :-) i hope you enjoy it...you can make a comment or just browse thru....mwahhhhh!!!!!! When I first moved to Joburg from London, I had no idea WHERE some of best places were to shop. Not the big name department stores,We all know those. But those cool boutiques /Vintage stores squirreled away across the city that a new comer like me longed to know about. THOSE were the shopping gems I wanted to discover. The places where stylish local Jo`burg girls shopped and loved. Living in London I knew where they were, but not here. Not knowing anyone to help, I set about finding them myself and over the years,I built up a closet based on those hunts (to mix in with what I already brought over from England). To this day, nothing thrills me more in this city, than to stumble on yet another hidden treasure. Now that I've experienced both sides of that big pond, I've often been asked where did I get what I'm wearing so I figured I'd start a blog about it since I'm now a mish mash of both cities. A Lagosian/Jo`burg girl in SA ... Thats me. we love www.jsq.co.za, Xoxo and K.I.S.S by JSQ
