The last time I wrote anything was in March or May....a lot has happened from there ....I can go with the "I have been so busy" slogan ....but really I have.....
I would like to change the direction of my Blog ,mainly because I have come to discover new areas that I love so profoundly, not that I love Fashion any less, but I have come to realise I love a whole lotta of other stuff too..... I do believe it is of humanistic nature to love and embrace various passions in our life time...
I would really love my blog to embrace me and be a true reflection of my thought process ,my day to day occurrences, happenings ,activities that trigger and stimulate my mind and actions ....Henceforth I would blog about everything and anything...i do hope you enjoy the ride with me.....
I have been working on my sunglasses range which would be officially released into main stream market in the near future...i have always loved the way a pair of shades could literally frame your face...Jokingly id say~ like the Head lights of a German Machine so as my Sunglasses to my face"..:-) That was meant to be Funny if you laughed Kudos to you, if you didn't.. :-(...will keep you in the loop as things progress.....
JSQ is going well ,it is a continuous learning process for me ,I learn each day....I would love to write a journal on starting a clothing /Fashion Label and all the Information a Young entrepreneur would require ....I would gather from my own experiences (which in the space of nearly 2 Years ,I have learnt!!! Lost a lot and Gained even More...One thing i would say for now is , don't expect to become an overnight millionaire....You do it for the Love of it and everything else will follow. If you wanna make a quick buck i suggest you play the Lotto J
What have I been up too besides Fashion.....? Delving deep into areas and subject matters to name a few.... Corporate Social Investing, Socio Economic Issues and the Economy as a whole.....When I am not designing or haggling my goods, I play a role at an NGO (I use the words PLAY with reference to acting), I read recently a phrase that goes thus 'We all Actors on the Stage called Life, Best you act to the best of your abilities until the curtain draws") profound right!!!!.
To speak of the curtain drawing would a long walk into spirituality, The Creation story and the Demise of the world we live in eventually...I guess that's a topic for another dayyyy J....
Over the years I have been drawn to various subject Matter, The issue of Poverty, The Role of the West, Social Structures and various ideologies (The Marx`s, Durkheim, Weber),Feminism and Women's Rights, Globalization the list is endless ,all in Pursuit of a Perfect society an Utopian one..........
I strongly believe one of the advantages of being a woman, is we can buy the best pair of Killer Heels, adorn them, and still understand the underlying process and factors of how our shoes have come into existence... Proverbially speaking Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back... defines our quest for knowledge.
Responsibility and accountability by our leaders and of ourselves is imperative...we are a generation full of questions, No rhetorical questions, we require answers.
Ethical buying has never been of great consequence; Governance and Ethics have become minimum requirements, Service delivery, and our reinforced rights as citizens of the world.....
I am not a Tree Hugger, and really trying to get a grasp of the so called Go Green Initiatives.... close to home though is a Free and Fair market for all. Organizations such as Body Shop have put a spin and shifted focus, Sustainability is key to development. Key to effective Development and growth in a Free and Fair environment is our Ethos. To have an ideal capitalist society.....(in hindsight we have to question capitalism , how Fair is this system and Free to who, empowering who , creating a wider divide or bridging the Gap???)
It was really nice to have the world cup here in Africa, never have I seen Africans unite across all borders. It was an event to make every African Proud and eradicate/enlighten preconceived and bigoted views of Africa.....I Picked up new slogans
KE NAKO: Zulu for the Time is here...it is Time......
AYOBA: Cool..ie you look Ayoba....Now dats Ayoba and the Verb will be Ayobaness.......:-)
Women's days celebration was recently celebrated in South Africa, I was honoured to be invited for a workshop which I found ever so empowering, insightful and uplifting, the mere presence of such high achievers and Pioneers of various sectors of our economy. Resilient women who against all odds forged ahead to become success stories of our time and to reinforce the idea of YES WE CAN...
I Am glad the spirit of Blogging has been restored unto me J, To say that I enjoy blogging is an understatement, the arbitrary nature in which I have been blogging lately might suggest the contrary...My excuse!!!! Finding myself and understanding what I want to talk about, share and write.....
Am living my Life like its Golden I suggest you do it.....Mwahhhhhh xoxo
